Ironing is not among our favourite household activities, but it is a must if we want to look good. However, in order for this process to be effective and not take too much time, there are important things that must be observed.
If you want to be great with the iron, then avoid the following mistakes:
Iron clothes that are very dry
Many people make the mistake of ironing clothes that are too dry, not knowing that annoying creases are ironed out faster and easier if they are slightly damp. When they are too dry they are difficult to smooth perfectly and can take much longer.
You iron delicate fabrics at the end
When ironing delicate fabrics, you must be aware of which program of the iron to work with and what the temperature should be. Very often people make the mistake of ironing coarser fabrics first, leaving the delicate ones for last, not realising that the iron is already hot and can damage fine clothes if you don’t turn it down.
You forget to clean the iron
One common mistake is not cleaning the iron after you’re done ironing. It is good to clean it regularly, if not every time, then from time to time. Sometimes stains remain on the surface from the clothes you have ironed, and if they are not cleaned, they can damage not only the iron, but also the next clothes you have planned to process.
You keep dirty water in the iron
Sometimes in the rush to finish the tedious household duty, we forget to throw out the water from the iron we have been ironing with. So it happens that it stagnates, but it can create a problem the next time you iron it and leave ugly stains on the clothes. Therefore, always check before you start ironing that you have not forgotten any water from the previous time and clean it up.
Do not use steam for a large amount of clothes
In order for ironing to be really fast, easy, efficient, it is good to process the clothes with steam, especially if you have a large pile of textiles waiting for you.
